Bangladesh Ship Recycling Board (BSRB) Director General Mr. ASM Shafiul Alam Talukder visited the Bangladesh Industrial Technical Assistance Centre (BITAC), Chattogram, together with the JICA Team, led by Dr. Akira Okamoto, as part of a feasibility study to establish a Hands-on Training Centre for the Ship Recycling Industry.
The visit focused on assessing BITAC’s technical capabilities and exploring opportunities to develop a modern training facility that will strengthen the skills of Bangladesh’s ship recycling workforce. This initiative aims to enhance occupational safety, technical excellence, environmental compliance, and support the implementation of international standards, including the Hong Kong International Convention (HKC).
Through collaboration with national and international partners, BSRB remains committed to building a safer, more sustainable, and globally competitive ship recycling industry for Bangladesh.
